EASY JAMAICAN POT ROAST

Easy Jamaican Pot Roast image

My friend Clint gave me this recipe, I've changed it slightly, This pot roast is wonderful served with Rice & Peas, roasted potatoes and the spicy gravy it cooks in. Put it on the stove and sit back and relax. For a hot n' spicy roast add 1 pepper, for a spicier roast add 2 peppers and for the (on fire) spiciest roast and gravy add 3 peppers but Please beware ... THESE ARE HOT!...I kid you not. Scotch bonnet peppers are also known as habaneros.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of beef: Chuck roast, rump roast, and brisket are all good choices for pot roast. These cuts are tough, but they become tender when cooked slowly in liquid.
  • Brown the beef before cooking: Browning the beef gives it a richer flavor and helps to keep it moist. To brown the beef, heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook, turning occasionally, until it is browned on all sides.
  • Use a flavorful liquid: The liquid you use to cook the pot roast will add flavor to the meat. Good options include beef broth, chicken broth, or water mixed with red wine or beer. You can also add vegetables, herbs, and spices to the liquid for extra flavor.
  • Cook the pot roast slowly: Pot roast should be cooked slowly over low heat. This allows the meat to become tender and the flavors to develop. Cook the pot roast for at least 2 hours, or until the meat is fall-apart tender.
  • Serve the pot roast with your favorite sides: Pot roast can be served with a variety of sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or rice. You can also serve it with a gravy made from the cooking liquid.

Conclusion:

Caribbean spiced pot roast is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a family meal. The combination of spices and herbs gives the pot roast a unique and flavorful taste. Serve it with your favorite sides for a complete and satisfying meal.
