CARIBBEAN-STYLE FRIED SALMON FRITTERS

Caribbean-Style Fried Salmon Fritters image

Adapted from fried Caribbean accras, which are made from salted cod. A recipe that my dad used to make on the occasional Sunday. I didn't have salted cod, so I substituted canned sockeye salmon and it turned out awesome.

Tips:

  • For a crispier fritter, ensure the salmon is well-coated in the breadcrumb mixture before frying.
  • To prevent the fritters from becoming too oily, drain them on paper towels after frying.
  • Serve the fritters immediately, while they are still hot and crispy.
  • You can use any type of breadcrumb in this recipe, but panko breadcrumbs will give you the crispiest result.
  • If you don't have any fresh herbs on hand, you can use 1 teaspoon of dried herbs instead.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to your liking. If you prefer a milder flavor, use less cayenne pepper or omit it altogether.

Conclusion:

These Caribbean-style fried salmon fritters are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main course. They are perfect for a party or a potluck, and they are sure to be a hit with your friends and family. So next time you are looking for a new way to enjoy salmon, give these fritters a try.
