Tips:

  • Choose the Right Catfish: For the best flavor and texture, use fresh or frozen catfish fillets that are at least 1 inch thick.
  • Cut the Fillets Correctly: Cut the catfish fillets into even-sized strips, about 1 inch wide and 3 inches long.
  • Season the Catfish: Before cooking, season the catfish strips with salt, pepper, and any other desired spices or herbs.
  • Use a Light Batter: To keep the catfish sticks crispy, use a light batter made with flour, cornstarch, and water. Avoid using heavy batters, as they can make the catfish sticks soggy.
  • Fry the Catfish Sticks Properly: Heat the oil to the correct temperature (375°F) before frying the catfish sticks. Fry them in small batches to prevent overcrowding and ensure even cooking.
  • Serve with Sauces: Serve the catfish sticks with tartar sauce, ranch dressing, or any other desired dipping sauce.
