4 cups peeled and sliced potatoes
2 cups diced ham
½ onion, chopped
2 cups milk
1 cup frozen peas
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
⅛ teaspoon garlic powder
⅛ teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley
¼ pound Cheddar cheese, diced
1 pinch paprika, or to taste

  • Layer half the potatoes, half the ham, and half the onion in an 2-quart baking dish; repeat the layers.

  • Stir Cheddar cheese into sauce until cheese is melted.

½ cup whole milk

Here is another use for leftover ham and the other ingredients I always have on hand. I like this recipe because it has a hint of thyme in it. There are also directions here in the description if you wish to freeze it. If you want to bake it at 325 degrees instead of at 375 degrees notice my directions (you know how sometimes you want a certain oven temperature to orchestrate your menu-lol). If you want to freeze this start the recipe differently by cutting the potatoes in half and then parboiling them for 10 minutes. Drain, cover with cold water and allow potatoes to cool. Slice potatoes and assemble recipe as directed. Don't bake yet if freezing. Cover well with plastic wrap and foil. Label and freeze. 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of celery soup
10 1/2 ounces milk (Just use the empty can of cream of celery)

1 cooking spray (for spraying the pan)
2 tablespoons butter

  • Go ahead and prep by preheating the oven to 400 Degrees Fahrenheit & spray your glass casserole Dish with cooking Spray.
  • Dice your Onion into finely Chopped pieces and your ham into bite sized bits.
