CHEESY MINUTE/SANDWICH STEAK CASSEROLE

Cheesy Minute/Sandwich Steak Casserole image

Super cheesy, stick to your ribs, definitely NOT a diet dish. Fairly quick to make...kids LOVE it. My b/f came up with this one night when all we had in the freezer were some minute/sandwich steaks. I have 30 minutes for prep time but I've seen him toss this together in half that time. The kids don't like chopped green peppers but I think they would be great in this dish. Also great for covered dish suppers.

Tips:

  • Choose the right steak. Look for a steak that is well-marbled, which means it has thin streaks of fat running through it. This will help keep the steak moist and flavorful as it cooks.
  • Cut the steak against the grain. This will help make the steak more tender when you eat it.
  • Season the steak liberally. Use a combination of salt, pepper, and garlic powder to give the steak a flavorful crust.
  • Cook the steak over high heat. This will help sear the steak quickly and lock in the juices.
  • Let the steak rest before slicing it. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, making it more tender and juicy.
  • Use a sharp knife to slice the steak. This will help prevent the steak from tearing and shredding.
