Something a little different to do with sausage.

Provided by Jo Dee

Categories     Pasta

Time 5h10m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 lb mild or hot italian sausage links
2 can(s) 10.75 oz campbell's cheddar cheese soup
1 can(s) 14.5 oz petite diced tomatoes, undrained
1/2 Tbsp onion powder
1 tsp dried oregano
water
2 Tbsp butter
1/2 tsp salt (optional)
1 box 16 oz penne pasta

  • 2. Brown sausage on all sides.
  • 3. Add soup, tomatoes, onion powder, oregano, and about half a soup can of water to slow cooker and stir to combine. Add browned sausage to slow cooker. Cook on low 5 hours, stirring occasionally, draining water from condensed steam off lid before replacing. Leave the lid off for the last half hour to let the sauce thicken.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the dish will taste. Use fresh vegetables, high-quality cheese, and flavorful sausage.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the sausage, don't overcrowd the pan. This will prevent the sausage from cooking evenly and will make it more likely to stick to the pan.
  • Cook the pasta al dente: Al dente means "to the tooth" in Italian. It refers to the texture of pasta that is cooked through but still has a slight bite to it. Cooking the pasta al dente will prevent it from becoming mushy.
  • Use a flavorful sauce: The sauce is what brings all the flavors of the dish together. Use a sauce that is packed with flavor, such as a tomato sauce, a creamy sauce, or a pesto sauce.
  • Top with cheese: Cheese is the perfect finishing touch for this dish. It adds a delicious cheesy flavor and helps to bind all the ingredients together.
