Tips:

  • Use ripe bananas: For the best flavor and texture, use ripe bananas that are yellow with brown spots.
  • Choose your bread wisely: A sturdy bread, such as sourdough or whole wheat, will hold up better to the toppings.
  • Don't skimp on the butter: Butter adds richness and flavor to the toast. Use unsalted butter so you can control the amount of salt in the dish.
  • Use fresh cherries: Fresh cherries are the best choice for this recipe. If you can't find fresh cherries, you can use frozen cherries that have been thawed and drained.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice: A squeeze of lemon juice brightens up the flavors in the dish and prevents the cherries from browning.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the cherries, don't overcrowd the pan. This will prevent them from cooking evenly.
  • Serve immediately: Cherry banana toast is best served immediately after it is made. The bananas will start to brown if you let it sit for too long.

Conclusion:

Cherry banana toast is a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch dish. It's a great way to use up ripe bananas and fresh cherries. The combination of sweet cherries, creamy bananas, and crunchy bread is irresistible. With a few simple tips, you can make the perfect cherry banana toast every time.
