Amazingly easy and amazingly good... too good! This is my mother-in-law's recipe that was just recently shared. It would be a shame not to share it. Best served warm and with vanilla ice cream (of course).

Tips:

  • Use fresh or frozen cherries for the best flavor. If using frozen cherries, thaw them before using.
  • Be sure to drain the cherries well before adding them to the cake batter. This will prevent the cake from being too wet.
  • Don't overmix the cake batter. Overmixing can make the cake tough.
  • Bake the cake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. This will ensure that the cake is cooked through.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting it. This will help the frosting to set properly.
  • If you don't have cream cheese on hand, you can substitute sour cream or Greek yogurt.
  • For a richer flavor, use full-fat cream cheese.
  • If you want a sweeter frosting, add more powdered sugar.
  • Garnish the cake with fresh cherries, whipped cream, or sprinkles before serving.

Conclusion:

Cherry Cream Cheese Dump Cake is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to use up fresh or frozen cherries, and it is always a hit with family and friends. With its simple ingredients and minimal preparation, this dump cake is a must-try for anyone who loves cherry desserts.
