Time 5m

Yield 16 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained (save juice for another recipe or drink it!)
1 1/2-2 cups chopped pecans (optional) or 1 1/2-2 cups walnuts (optional)
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix all ingredients until well combined.
  • Chill for an hour or two and then serve!

Tips:

  • Use fresh fruits: Fresh cherries and pineapple are the stars of this pie, so make sure they are ripe and juicy. If you can't find fresh cherries, frozen or canned cherries will work in a pinch.
  • Pit the cherries: Before you add the cherries to the pie filling, be sure to pit them. This can be done with a cherry pitter or by hand. If you are using a cherry pitter, be careful not to crush the cherries.
  • Drain the pineapple: Be sure to drain the pineapple before adding it to the pie filling. This will help to prevent the pie from being too runny.
  • Use a deep-dish pie crust: A deep-dish pie crust will help to accommodate all of the fruit filling. You can use a store-bought pie crust or make your own.
  • Bake the pie until the crust is golden brown: The pie should be baked until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. This usually takes about 1 hour.
  • Let the pie cool before serving: Once the pie is baked, let it cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. This will help the filling to set.

Conclusion:

This cherry pineapple pie is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert. It is perfect for any occasion, from potlucks to family gatherings. With its sweet and tangy filling and flaky crust, this pie is sure to be a hit. So next time you are looking for a special dessert, give this cherry pineapple pie a try. You won't be disappointed!
