CHICKEN AND NOODLES (CROCK POT)
A very simple recipe that's comforting when the weather is cold and that even the young kids in my family will eat. I found the recipe on the internet but I believe it originally came from Taste of Home. It makes a lot, I'm guessing on the number of servings!

Steps:
- Put all ingredients, except noodles, in crock pot.
- Cook on low 8-10 hours or on high 3 1/2-4 1/2 hours.
- (I cook just until the chicken is done, about 5 hours on low).
- Remove chicken from broth.
- I like to run a slotted spoon through the broth to make sure no little bones have escaped.
- Add salt to taste.
- Turn cooker to high and add noodles when broth is hot and bubbly.
- Cook 30-45 minutes, or until noodles are done, stirring occasionally.
- Meanwhile, remove meat from bones.

CROCK POT CHICKEN AND NOODLES
I started making this a few years ago for my family. It is one of my son's favorite meals. I take it to families with new babies and it's always a much-appreciated, comfort food.

- This freezes quite well too.
- It makes a lot at once.
Tips:
- To save even more time, you can use a rotisserie chicken or leftover chicken from a previous meal.
- If you don't have a slow cooker, you can make this recipe in a Dutch oven over medium heat for about 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- You can also add other vegetables to this recipe, such as carrots, celery, or potatoes.
- If you want a thicker soup, you can add a cornstarch slurry (equal parts cornstarch and water) to the soup and cook until thickened.
- Serve this soup with a side of crusty bread or crackers.
