CHICKEN & NOODLE DELIGHT RECIPE - (4.8/5)

Provided by carvalhohm

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
2 1-oz. pkgs. ranch salad dressing mix
1/2 c. water
2 10-3/4 oz. cans cream of chicken soup
8-oz. pkg. cream cheese, cubed
12-oz. pkg. sliced mushrooms
16-oz. pkg. wide egg noodles, cooked

Steps:

  • Place chicken into a lightly greased slow cooker. Combine salad dressing mix, water and soup; pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low setting for 3 to 4 hours. Stir in cream cheese and mushrooms; cover and continue to cook for an additional 45 minutes, or until chicken juices run clear. Shred chicken or serve whole over egg noodles. Spoon sauce from slow cooker over top. Makes 8 servings.

Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken: For the best flavor and texture, use bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts or thighs. If you prefer boneless, skinless chicken, be sure to add some extra oil or butter to the pot to prevent the chicken from drying out.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: The more vegetables you add to your chicken noodle soup, the more flavorful and nutritious it will be. Some good options include carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, parsnips, and turnips.
  • Don't overcook the noodles: Noodles should be cooked until they are al dente, or slightly firm to the bite. Overcooked noodles will become mushy and ruin the soup.
  • Season to taste: Be sure to taste your soup before serving and adjust the seasonings as needed. You may want to add more salt, pepper, garlic, or herbs.
  • Serve with your favorite toppings: Some popular toppings for chicken noodle soup include chopped parsley, grated Parmesan cheese, and oyster crackers.

Conclusion:

Chicken noodle soup is a classic comfort food that is easy to make and loved by people of all ages. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a delicious and nutritious soup that will warm you up on a cold day or help you feel better when you're sick.
