Steps:
- Place velveeta cheese and cream cheese in large bowl, let come to room temperature.
- Mix cheeses well.
- Add nuts, garlic powder and salt. Mix well.
- Shape into a ball or log, roll in chili powder.
- Wrap in foil and chill until firm.
- Serve with crackers.
Tips:
- Choose the right cream cheese: Use a high-quality cream cheese that is smooth and spreadable. Avoid using whipped cream cheese, as it will make the log too soft.
- Shred the cheese finely: Shred the cheddar cheese finely so that it melts evenly throughout the log.
- Use a variety of peppers: To add different levels of heat and flavor, use a combination of mild, medium, and hot peppers.
- Don't overmix the ingredients: Overmixing the ingredients will make the log too dense. Mix them just until they are combined.
- Chill the log before slicing: Chilling the log for at least 1 hour before slicing will help it hold its shape.
- Use a sharp knife to slice the log: A sharp knife will help you get clean, even slices.
Conclusion:
The chili cheese log is a delicious and versatile appetizer that is perfect for any party or gathering. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its creamy texture, spicy kick, and cheesy flavor, the chili cheese log is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
