Number Of Ingredients 12

1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted, plus more for the pan
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for the pan
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon fine salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 large egg, at room temperature
3 very ripe bananas, mashed
1/3 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter and flour a 9-by-5-inch metal loaf pan.
  • Whisk the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and cinnamon together in a large bowl.
  • Lightly beat the egg in a medium bowl with a fork or a whisk. Add the banana and mix to combine. Stir in the sour cream, vanilla and melted butter. Stir the sour cream-banana mixture into the flour mixture until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips and pecans until just combined but with a few lumps still in the batter. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and smooth out into an even layer.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean, 1 hour, 5 minutes to 1 hour, 10 minutes. Cool in the pan on a rack for 20 minutes. Run a thin knife along the sides of the pan to loosen the bread and unmold it. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Time 1h25m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chocolate chips
3/4 cup pecans, chopped
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup mashed banana
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F; butter and flour 9x5x2 1/2 inch loaf pan.
  • Whisk first four ingredients in bowl to blend, add chocolate chips and pecans.
  • Beat butter until fluffy.
  • Gradually add sugar, beating well until blended.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time.
  • Beat in mashed bananas, lemon juice and vanilla.
  • Beat in flour mixture.
  • Pour into loaf pan, cook 1 hour and 5 minutes.

Tips:

  • Use ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your banana bread will be.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can make your banana bread tough. Mix just until the ingredients are well combined.
  • Bake the banana bread at the right temperature: The ideal temperature for baking banana bread is 350°F (175°C). If you bake it at a higher temperature, the outside will brown too quickly before the inside is cooked through.
  • Don't overbake the banana bread: Overbaking can make your banana bread dry. Check the bread for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, the bread is done.
  • Let the banana bread cool completely before slicing and serving: This will help the bread to set and make it easier to slice.

Conclusion:

Chocolate chip pecan banana bread is a delicious and easy-to-make treat. With its moist texture, sweet banana flavor, and crunchy pecans, it's a perfect snack or breakfast food. Whether you're a seasoned baker or a beginner, this recipe is sure to be a hit. So preheat your oven, gather your ingredients, and let's get baking!
