Steps:
- 1. Heat milk until bubbles begin to form around the edges of the saucepan. Remove from heat and add the chips and whisk to combine and blend. Pour into the chocolate cookie crust, spreading evenly; put in freezer until set , about 20 minutes.
- 2. Preheat broiler. Whip egg whites until frothy. Slowly add the sugar, beating until stiff peak form, about 3 minutes. Beat in the vanilla and marshmallow cream. Spoon mixture over the chocolate,Make sure you cover all the way to the edges of the crust.
- 3. In a preheated broiler, place pie on the middle rack of the oven and broil until the top is lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Garnish top with mini chocolate chips. Cool 15 minutes before slicing.
Tips:
- Choose the right chocolate: Use high-quality, semisweet or bittersweet chocolate for the best flavor. You can also use a combination of milk chocolate and dark chocolate for a sweeter tart.
- Make sure the egg whites are at room temperature: This will help them whip up more easily and create a stiffer meringue.
- Beat the egg whites gradually: Start on low speed and gradually increase the speed as the egg whites begin to foam. This will help prevent the egg whites from becoming grainy.
- Don't overbeat the egg whites: Overbeaten egg whites will become dry and crumbly, which will make the meringue tough.
- Fold the meringue into the chocolate mixture gently: This will help prevent the meringue from deflating.
- Bake the tart at a low temperature: This will help prevent the crust from becoming too hard and the filling from curdling.
- Chill the tart before serving: This will help the filling set and make it easier to slice.
- Serve the tart with fresh berries or whipped cream: This will add a delicious and refreshing touch to the tart.
Conclusion:
This chocolate meringue tart is a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its rich chocolate filling and fluffy meringue topping, this tart is sure to be a hit.
