Categories     Lunch/Snacks

Time 10m

Yield 12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

6 ounces low-sodium tuna in water (1 can)
12 leaves iceberg lettuce
1/2 cup diced tomato
1/2 cup carrot, strands
2 tablespoons light mayonnaise (optional) or 2 tablespoons mustard (optional)
12 toothpicks (for keeping wraps together)

Steps:

  • Drain tuna and put in a small bowl with tomatoes and carrots. Mix well. (If adding mayo or mustard, mix that in as well.).
  • Take one lettuce leaf and place some of the tuna mix in the middle of it.
  • Wrap the lettuce up and stick a toothpick in so it will stay. You should be able make 12 of these.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Tips:

  • To make the tuna salad more flavorful, use high-quality tuna packed in oil or brine. Flake the tuna with a fork to ensure an even texture.
  • Add your favorite mix-ins to the tuna salad to customize it to your liking. Some popular options include chopped celery, red onion, hard-boiled eggs, and dill.
  • Use fresh, soft tortillas for the roll-ups. This will make them easier to roll and prevent them from cracking.
  • Spread the tuna salad evenly over the tortillas. Don't overload them, or they will be difficult to roll.
  • Roll the tortillas tightly and wrap them in plastic wrap. This will help them hold their shape and make them easier to slice.
  • Chill the roll-ups for at least 30 minutes before slicing. This will help them firm up and make them easier to cut.
  • Serve the roll-ups with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch dressing, guacamole, or salsa.

Conclusion:

Chunky tuna salad roll-ups are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or lunch option. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or picnics. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a tasty and satisfying meal that everyone will enjoy.
