Time 10m

Yield 9 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

3 cups COCOA KRISPIES® cereal
1 1/2 tablespoons butter or 1 1/2 tablespoons margarine
2 cups mini marshmallows (or 20 big ones)
1/2 cup peanut butter chips (like Reese's)

Steps:

  • Melt the butter and marshmallows in the microwave on high for about 2 minutes (stir after one minute).
  • Add Rice Krispies.
  • Stir until ingredients are combined.
  • Spread in an 8 by 8 square pan that has been greased with butter.
  • I put margarine on my hands to make the spreading part easier.
  • Melt peanut butter chips in the microwave.
  • Spread on top of bars.

Tips:

  • Use fresh marshmallows for the best results. Old or stale marshmallows will not melt as well and can make the treats tough.
  • Do not overcook the marshmallow mixture. The mixture should be cooked until it reaches the soft ball stage, which is 235 degrees Fahrenheit (113 degrees Celsius). If the mixture is overcooked, the treats will be hard and chewy.
  • Add the cereal to the marshmallow mixture as soon as it is cooked. If you wait too long, the mixture will start to set and it will be difficult to mix the cereal in.
  • Press the treats firmly into the pan. This will help to prevent them from crumbling.
  • Let the treats cool completely before cutting them. If you cut them too soon, they will be gooey and messy.

Conclusion:

Cocoa Krispies treats are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a sweet and satisfying snack that is perfect for any occasion. Whether you are making them for a party, a bake sale, or just for a quick snack, Cocoa Krispies treats are sure to be a hit.
