COLA ROAST TURKEY
Want a delicious, tender, juicy and BEAUTIFUL turkey? Try what my Grandpa taught me when I was just a little girl. I've ALWAYS made my turkey this way and it always turns out great. And besides, you get LOTS of wide eyed looks! The idea behind the cola is that the acid in the soda helps to tenderize the bird, the sugar and caramel gives it just a hint of sweetness, and the coloring helps to give the bird a beautiful roasted color. Enjoy!!

Tips:
- Brine the turkey: Brining the turkey helps to keep it moist and flavorful. You can brine the turkey in a simple solution of water, salt, and sugar, or you can use a more flavorful brine that includes herbs and spices.
- Use a roasting pan with a rack: This will allow the turkey to cook evenly and prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
- Baste the turkey regularly: Basting the turkey with the pan juices helps to keep it moist and prevent it from drying out.
- Cook the turkey to the correct temperature: The internal temperature of the turkey should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit in the breast and 175 degrees Fahrenheit in the thigh.
- Let the turkey rest before carving: Letting the turkey rest for 15-20 minutes before carving allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful turkey.
Conclusion:
Cola-roasted turkey is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any special occasion. By following these tips, you can ensure that your turkey is cooked to perfection and that your guests will enjoy every bite.
