Tips:

  • Prepare the Crab Properly: If using fresh crab, steam or boil it until cooked through. For frozen crab, thaw it in the refrigerator overnight or under cold running water.
  • Make a Versatile Crab Salad: Create a basic crab salad by combining cooked crabmeat, mayonnaise, celery, red onion, and lemon juice. Add variations like avocado, corn, or diced apples for extra flavor and texture.
  • Stuff Shells or Wontons: Fill wonton wrappers or pasta shells with a mixture of crab salad, cream cheese, and herbs. Bake or fry until crispy and golden brown.
  • Bake Crab Rangoon: Make a creamy filling with crabmeat, cream cheese, and green onions. Fill wonton wrappers and deep-fry or bake until golden brown. Serve with a sweet and sour sauce.
  • Try Crab Cakes: Combine crabmeat with bread crumbs, eggs, and seasonings. Form into patties and pan-fry or bake until cooked through. Serve with tartar sauce or remoulade.
