PORK TENDERLOIN WITH GINGERED CRANBERRY (OR CHERRY) SAUCE (5 PT

Pork Tenderloin With Gingered Cranberry (Or Cherry) Sauce (5 Pt image

A quick scan of my recipe collection reveals my fondness for fruit sauces with poultry or pork. So when I found this one in a Weight Watchers cookbook, I was instantly taken with it. Though I will not try this until later this week, the presentation here includes my modifications. I have made this with dried cherries and it was superb, almost better than the original. If using cherries, reduce the amount of ginger a small amount. (5 points)

Tips:

  • Choose the right ribs: Select pork ribs that are meaty and have a good amount of marbling. This will ensure that the ribs are tender and flavorful after cooking.
  • Prepare the ribs properly: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs before cooking. This will help the ribs cook more evenly and will also prevent them from becoming tough.
  • Use a flavorful marinade: The marinade is what will give the ribs their flavor, so make sure to use one that you like. The recipe in the article uses a marinade made with cranberry juice, ginger, garlic, and soy sauce.
  • Cook the ribs slowly and low: The best way to cook pork ribs is to cook them slowly and low. This will help the ribs to become tender and fall off the bone.
  • Baste the ribs regularly: Basting the ribs during cooking will help to keep them moist and flavorful. Use a brush to baste the ribs with the marinade or a mixture of melted butter and water.
  • Glaze the ribs: If you want a shiny, sticky glaze on your ribs, brush them with a glaze made with cranberry sauce, ginger, and brown sugar towards the end of cooking.

Conclusion:

Cranberry ginger pork ribs are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. By following the tips in this article, you can make sure that your ribs turn out tender, flavorful, and fall-off-the-bone delicious.
