Yield 4 people

Number Of Ingredients 8

One 5 oz. package Farmhouse® Angel Hair Butter & Parmesan Pasta
3 Tablespoons finely minced onion
4 Tablespoons butter or margarine
1 cup hot water
2/3 cup milk
2 Tablespoons dry white wine
One 6.5 oz. can minced clams, drained; reserve liquid
2 Tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • In large saucepan, sauté onion in butter or margarine until tender but not brown. Add water, milk, wine, reserved liquid from clams, pasta and contents of seasoning packet; bring just to a boil. Reduce heat, cook uncovered over medium-low heat 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Add drained clams, heat through. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Sauce will thicken as it stands. Transfer to serving dish and sprinkle with chopped parsley.

Tips:

  • Use fresh clams. Fresh clams have a briny, sweet flavor that canned clams can't match. If you can't find fresh clams, you can use frozen clams, but be sure to thaw them completely before using.
  • Don't overcook the clams. Clams are very delicate and can easily overcook. Cook them just until they are opaque and tender, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Use a good quality white wine. The wine you use in this sauce will make a big difference in the final flavor. Choose a dry white wine that you would enjoy drinking on its own.
  • Don't be afraid to add more herbs and spices. The recipe calls for parsley, thyme, and garlic, but you can also add other herbs and spices that you like, such as oregano, basil, or red pepper flakes.
  • Serve the pasta with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and a drizzle of olive oil. This will help to add richness and flavor to the dish.

Conclusion:

Creamy clam pasta sauce is a delicious and easy-to-make sauce that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is also a great way to use up leftover clams. With its rich flavor and creamy texture, this sauce is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
