Time 6h10m

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 large cucumbers, peeled and sliced
2 Tablespoons minced yellow onion
16 ounces sour cream
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup white vinegar
2 teaspoons dill weed
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Pinch of pepper

Steps:

  • Place cucumbers and onion in a bowl. In a separate bowl combine sour cream, salt, vinegar, dill weed, sugar and pepper. Mix well. Pour over cucumbers and mix. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 6 hours or longer. Mix well and serve.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh, firm cucumbers: This will ensure that your salad is crisp and flavorful. If the cucumbers are too soft, they will become mushy in the salad.

  • Use a variety of herbs and spices: This will add depth and flavor to the salad. Some good options include dill, chives, parsley, mint, garlic, and onion.
  • Make the dressing ahead of time: This will allow the flavors to meld and develop. You can store the dressing in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Chill the salad before serving: This will help the flavors to come together and make the salad more refreshing.

Conclusion:

This creamy garden cucumber salad is a refreshing and flavorful side dish that is perfect for summer gatherings. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its creamy dressing, crisp cucumbers, and fresh herbs, this salad is sure to be a hit at your next barbecue or potluck.
