Tips:

  • Use fresh poppy seeds for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh poppy seeds, you can use dried poppy seeds, but they will not have as much flavor.
  • Toast the poppy seeds before using them. This will help to bring out their flavor and make them more fragrant.
  • Use a good quality fettuccine pasta. This will make a big difference in the final dish.
  • Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Don't overcook it, or it will become mushy.
  • Use a heavy cream that is at least 35% fat. This will make the sauce rich and creamy.
  • Add the poppy seeds to the sauce at the end of cooking. This will prevent them from becoming overcooked and losing their flavor.
  • Serve the fettuccine with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley.
