Tips:

  • Use Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes: These two varieties hold their shape well and won't become too mushy when cooked.
  • Slice the potatoes evenly: This will help them cook evenly.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: Give the potatoes enough space to cook evenly.
  • Use a heavy-bottomed pan: This will help prevent the potatoes from burning.
  • Bring the milk and cream to a simmer, not a boil: This will help prevent the sauce from curdling.
  • Use a wooden spoon to stir the sauce: This will help prevent the sauce from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  • Season the sauce to taste: Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.
  • Top the potatoes with cheese: This will give them a golden brown crust.
  • Bake the potatoes until they are tender: This will take about 30 minutes.

Conclusion:

Creamy scalloped potatoes and kielbasa is a delicious and comforting dish that is perfect for a family meal. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. So next time you are looking for a hearty and flavorful dish, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
