1 broiler/fryer chicken (3 to 4 pounds), cut up
8 cups water
1-1/2 teaspoons salt, divided
1-1/2 teaspoons pepper, divided
2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen puff pastry shells
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1/2 cup small fresh broccoli florets
5 tablespoons butter, cubed
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 jar (2 ounces) diced pimientos, drained
1/4 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

  • In a large kettle, bring the chicken, water, 1 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon pepper to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1-1/2 to 2 hours or until chicken is tender. Remove chicken from broth; cool. Remove meat from bones; cut into cubes and set aside. Discard skin and bones. 1 (12 ounce) package jumbo pasta shells
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of celery soup
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
2 (14 ounce) cans chicken broth
1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
1 pinch garlic powder
1 whole cooked chicken, boned and shredded
