Provided by Happy Happy George

Categories     Pork

Time 5h25m

Yield 4 Big Eaters, 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 16

5 lbs country-style pork ribs
1 cup chopped celery
2 cups chopped onions
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup yellow mustard
1 cup barbecue sauce (I used John Boy and Billy's hot & spicy grillin' sauce)
1 cup water
3 tablespoons dark cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes

Steps:

  • While I boil the pork for 20-30 minutes to decrease fat, I mix all other ingredients together in a large enough bowl and stir to mix well.
  • Put pork in the crock pot, adding sauce as you go, until you get to about an inch from the top.
  • Use as much sauce as you can as it will be needed later to put over the rice.
  • With a big spoon, give a stir to blend all together.
  • Put on the lid, turn on high and let it cook for about 5 hours.
  • After that, you may want to keep it a little longer on low to keep it hot.
  • Serve this with some white rice, baked beans (or just pork& beans), cole slaw and some toasted garlic bread and you have yourself a meal.
  • Be sure to use lots of the sauce over the pork and rice.

CROCK POT COUNTRY STYLE RIBS WITH MAPLE BBQ SAUCE

Crock Pot Country Style Ribs With Maple BBQ Sauce image

Loved this BBQ sauce on these ribs. They came out sooo tender. I love how easy this dish is to put together too ... makes you wonder why you spend time over a hot grill.

Provided by Dana Ramsey

Categories     Ribs

Time 6h20m

Number Of Ingredients 15

3 lb country style pork ribs
garlic seasoning
everglades seasoning
1 c ketchup
1 Tbsp brown sugar
4 Tbsp pure maple syrup
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
2 tsp low sodium soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce, your choice (I used Texas Pete)
1 1/2 strips of cooked bacon, chopped
dash of salt and some freshly ground pepper
mesquite liquid smoke

Steps:

  • 1. Ribs: Sprinkle both sides with the garlic powder and Everglades seasoning. Place a paper towel over top and allow to rest while you make the sauce.
  • 2. Sauce: Place all ingredients, except chopped bacon and the liquid smoke, in a saucepan. Mix well and heat stirring occasionally. Do not allow to burn. Once it begins to come to a soft boil, remove from heat, stir in bacon bits. Place the sauce in a bowl or glass measuring cup and cover with Saran Wrap. Set aside. (Do not refrigerate)
  • 3. Spray your Crock Pot with cooking spray. Place ribs in and sprinkle with the mesquite liquid smoke. I used a cap full. Cook on low for 4 1/2 hours.
  • 4. Check meat after the 4 1/2 hours. Should be a little pink. Drain the liquid and cover the ribs with the BBQ sauce and cook for another 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  • 5. My Crock Pot cooks a little hotter than normal so you may have to adjust your times or cook until a meat thermometer reads 145°. I must add that your house is going to smell so yummy while this is cooking. Enjoy.

CROCK POT BBQ PORK BACK RIBS

Crock Pot BBQ Pork Back Ribs image

I am not the greatest at cooking ribs on the grill unless I par boil them first. This recipe is always a hit and turns our wonderful, tender and delicious every time I make it.

Provided by Janet Crow

Categories     Ribs

Time 18h

Number Of Ingredients 8

2.5-3 lb pork back ribs
your favorite bbq sauce
3 Tbsp all purpose seasoning (recipe below)
2 Tbsp smoke paprika
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp salt
1 Tbsp adobo
1 tsp black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Combine all the ingredients for the all purpose seasoning, store in an airtight container and use as needed.
  • 2. Cut the ribs in half and rub them all over with the all purpose seasoning. Place them in a ziploc bag and put in the fridge overnight. When ready to cook, place the ribs on their sides in the crock pot with the meaty side facing the outer part of the crock pot (I used a 4 quart crock pot for mine). Pour in any juice left in the ziploc bag. Pour 3/4 C. of BBQ sauce over the top of the ribs. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, spooning the sauce over the ribs every so often as they cook.
  • 3. When you are ready to serve them, cover a baking sheet with tinfoil, turn the broiler on high and carefully remove the ribs to the baking sheet. Brush with a little more BBQ sauce and pop under the broiler to 2-3 minutes to add more color to the ribs. This is really optional, I do not always do it unless we have company coming for supper.

Tips:

  • Choose the right ribs: Look for ribs that are meaty and have good marbling. Avoid ribs that are too thin or have a lot of bone.
  • Trim the ribs: Remove any excess fat or silver skin from the ribs. This will help the ribs cook evenly and prevent them from becoming tough.
  • Season the ribs: Season the ribs with a mixture of salt, pepper, and your favorite spices. You can also add a rub or marinade to the ribs for extra flavor.
  • Cook the ribs on low heat: Cook the ribs on low heat for several hours, until they are fall-off-the-bone tender. This will help to keep the ribs moist and juicy.
  • Baste the ribs: Baste the ribs with barbecue sauce every 30 minutes or so during the cooking process. This will help to keep the ribs moist and prevent them from drying out.
  • Let the ribs rest: Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the ribs to reabsorb some of the juices and become even more tender.

Conclusion:

Crock-Pot BBQ ribs are a delicious and easy way to enjoy this classic dish. By following these tips, you can make sure that your ribs turn out perfectly every time. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned cook, you'll love how easy it is to make these ribs in your Crock-Pot. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy meal, give Crock-Pot BBQ ribs a try.
