Categories     One Dish Meal

Time 6h15m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 (15 ounce) cans pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 (15 ounce) can pork and beans, with their liquid
1 (20 ounce) can unsweetened pineapple chunks
1/3 cup hickory flavored barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 lb cooked smoked ham, cut into 3/4 inch cubes
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
fresh ground pepper

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients except vinegar and pepper in a crock pot.
  • Cover and cook on low heat setting 5/12 to 6 hours (the onion and green pepper will still be crunchy).
  • Stir in the vinegar and season with pepper to taste.

Tips:

  • Choose a ham that fits your crock pot. A 3-4 pound ham is a good size for a 5-6 quart crock pot.
  • Trim any excess fat from the ham. This will help to prevent the ham from becoming too greasy.
  • Score the ham in a diamond pattern. This will help the ham to absorb the flavor of the pineapple juice and brown sugar glaze.
  • Place the ham in the crock pot and add the pineapple juice, brown sugar, and spices. Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the ham is cooked through.
  • Baste the ham with the pineapple juice and brown sugar glaze every hour or so. This will help to keep the ham moist and flavorful.
  • Serve the ham hot with your favorite sides. Some popular sides for ham include mashed potatoes, green beans, and pineapple rings.

Conclusion:

Crock pot ham and pineapple is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a special occasion or a weeknight meal. The ham is cooked in a sweet and tangy pineapple juice and brown sugar glaze, which gives it a wonderful flavor. The ham is also very moist and tender, making it a great choice for a family meal. If you are looking for a delicious and easy-to-make ham recipe, crock pot ham and pineapple is a great option.
