Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh vegetables and herbs will give your chili the best flavor.
  • Don't skimp on the spices: Chili is all about the spices, so don't be afraid to use a generous amount. Cumin, chili powder, and paprika are all essential.
  • Add some heat: If you like your chili spicy, add a jalapeño or two or some cayenne pepper. You can also add a can of diced green chilies for a milder heat.
  • Use a variety of beans: White beans, black beans, and kidney beans are all good choices for chili. You can also use a combination of beans.
  • Don't overcook the chicken: Chicken can easily become dry and tough if it's overcooked. Cook it just until it's cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  • Let the chili simmer: The longer you simmer the chili, the better the flavors will develop. Simmer it for at least 30 minutes, or even longer if you have time.
  • Serve with your favorite toppings: Chili is delicious served with a variety of toppings, such as sour cream, shredded cheese, and diced avocado.
