Categories     Drop Cookies

Time 27m

Yield 4 dozen cookies

Number Of Ingredients 10

3 1/3 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
2/3 cup Karo light corn syrup
2 eggs
6 ounces melted unsweetened chocolate squares
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
  • Mix margarine and sugar, and stir in syrup and eggs.
  • Stir in flour mixture, melted chocolate, vanilla and nuts.
  • Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets.
  • Bake in 350 degree oven 10-12 minutes. Do not over bake.

Tips:

  • Use quality chocolate. The better the chocolate, the better the brownies will taste. Use a semisweet or bittersweet chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70%.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the brownies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Don't overbake the brownies. Overbaked brownies will be dry and crumbly. Bake them just until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them. This will help them to set and prevent them from falling apart.
  • Serve the brownies with your favorite toppings. Some popular toppings include ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate chips, and nuts.

Conclusion:

Brownies are a delicious and versatile dessert that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or just a simple snack. With so many different recipes to choose from, there is sure to be a brownie recipe that everyone will love.
