My daughter Kelleigh learned this recipe at culinary school. They are quite addictive just plain or you can use them in salads. This is definitely a recipe that you should go out and buy parchment paper for as it will make your life easier in the clean up!

CINNAMON CANDIED WALNUTS
Credit goes to Dawn for these Walnuts! I found this recipe on another website and I am posting this on this website because it's where I keep all my recipes and will want to make these again! I used them in a salad and everyone raved - they couldn't put their finger on what made the walnuts so good (it's the cinnamon).

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Toss together all ingredients in a medium bowl. Spread in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment. Bake until fragrant and sugar is bubbling, about 10 minutes. Let cool completely on sheet on a wire rack.
Tips:
- Choose fresh, plump walnuts for the best results.
- Toast the walnuts in a single layer in a preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant and lightly browned.
- Use a heavy saucepan to make the sugar syrup. This will help prevent the sugar from burning.
- Bring the sugar syrup to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Then, reduce heat to low and simmer for 1-2 minutes, or until the syrup has thickened slightly.
- Once the syrup begins to thicken, add the walnuts and stir to coat. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the walnuts are evenly coated.
- Spread the walnuts out on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and let cool completely.
- Store the candied walnuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
Conclusion:
Candied walnuts are an easy and delicious treat that can be enjoyed on their own or used as a topping for various desserts. They are also a great gift for friends and family. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make your own delicious candied walnuts at home.
