Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 medium green apples
1 medium seedless cucumber
4 cups fresh spinach leaves
1 small lemon
1½ cups cold fresh water ((you can use sparkling water))
4 slices of lemon (optional (for decoration))

Steps:

  • Wash and dry all vegetables. Cut the apples and cucumber into pieces, small enough to be easily blended. Discard apple cores.
  • Cut the lemon in half, cut off the yellow peel. Cut into slices and remove the seeds.
  • Place the apple, cucumber, lemon, and baby spinach in your Vitamix and blend until perfectly smooth.
  • Strain your juice through a fine-mesh: place your nut milk bag over a large jug and pour the green puree into the bag. Gently squeeze the mixture to separate the juice from the pressings. It is best to do this in batches.
  • Add one and a half cups of cold water. Mix to combine.
  • Pour into glasses. Garnish with lemon slices, if desired. You can also serve with ice cubes.

Time 15m

Yield Makes about 5 cups

Number Of Ingredients 7

3/4 cup packed chopped romaine
1 cup chopped cucumber
1 cup peeled, chopped orange
1 1/2 cups chopped ripe pear
1 tablespoon peeled, minced fresh ginger
1/4 cup packed chopped kale
Pinch of kosher salt

Steps:

  • Put all ingredients in a blender. Add 2 cups cold water; blend on high until smooth. Serve over ice.

Tips:

  • Utilize a Powerful Blender: Ensure your blender is capable of handling fibrous greens and frozen fruits. A high-speed blender is ideal for achieving a smooth and consistent texture.
  • Prep Your Ingredients: Wash and chop your fruits and vegetables before blending. This step saves time and ensures even blending.
  • Add Liquid First: Begin by adding liquid to the blender, followed by greens, fruits, and vegetables. This order helps the blades circulate the ingredients efficiently.
  • Gradually Increase Ingredients: Start with a small amount of greens and gradually increase their quantity as you become accustomed to the taste.
  • Experiment with Flavors: Don't be afraid to mix and match different fruits and vegetables to create unique and flavorful combinations.
  • Use Frozen Fruits: Frozen fruits not only add a refreshing touch but also help thicken the texture of your green juice.
  • Add Sweeteners or Spices: If you find your green juice too tart, consider adding natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup. You can also enhance the flavor with spices like ginger or turmeric.
  • Strain the Juice (Optional): If you prefer a smoother texture, strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any pulp or seeds.
  • Serve Immediately: Green juice is best consumed fresh to retain its nutritional value and vibrant color.

Creating delicious and nutritious green juices at home is a breeze with the right techniques and ingredients.
