Steps:
- Heat a very large skillet (for this full recipe, it should be a deep 12-inch pan) over medium high heat and brown the beef, stirring until no pink remains, about 5 minutes. Drain the beef and set aside.
- Wipe out the skillet, add the oil, and heat it over medium heat. Add the peppers, carrots, onion and garlic and sauté until almost tender, about 5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef back to the skillet, as well as the basil, oregano, tomatoes with their juice, water, Worcestershire sauce, and chili powder if using. Season with salt and pepper, turn the heat to high, and bring to a simmer. Add the pasta, stir and cover. Lower the heat to medium and simmer covered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender, and most of the liquid is absorbed, 8 to 10 minutes. Taste and season again if needed.
- Sprinkle the cheese over the casserole then cover for just 1 more minute until the cheese is melty, and serve. Serve this right out of the pan.

- Drain fat.
- Mix browned, ground beef& onion with the macaroni& cheese and serve!
- This recipe is so easy and kids should really love it!
Tips:
- Use a good quality cheese: The type of cheese you use will have a big impact on the flavor of your mac and beef. Use a cheese that melts well and has a strong flavor, such as cheddar, Gruyère, or Parmesan.
- Cook the beef until it is browned: This will help to develop the flavor of the beef and make it more tender.
- Use a flavorful pasta: A pasta with a hearty flavor, such as penne or macaroni, will stand up to the strong flavors of the cheese and beef.
- Don't overcook the pasta: Overcooked pasta will be mushy and unpleasant to eat.
- Use a combination of milk and cream: This will help to create a smooth and creamy sauce.
- Season the sauce to taste: Add salt, pepper, and other spices to taste. You may also want to add a touch of garlic powder or onion powder.
- Top the mac and beef with a sprinkle of cheese before baking: This will help to create a golden brown crust.
- Let the mac and beef rest for a few minutes before serving: This will help the flavors to meld together.
