Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 7

8 oz. uncooked medium pasta shells
1 lb. your favorite prepared creamy coleslaw (or your own recipe)
1/2 cup mayonaise
1 tbsp. chopped onion
1 tsp. dill weed
dash of salt & pepper (depending on how salty your coleslaw is)
2 cups crab meat, imitation crab meat or small, cooked shrimp

Steps:

  • 1. So easy! Cook pasta according to package instructions. In large bowl, combine coleslaw, mayo, onion, dill and salt and pepper (if using). Gently stir in crab meat.
  • 2. Drain pasta and rinse in cold water. Add to coleslaw mixture. Toss to coat. Chill until ready to serve.

Tips:

  • Use fresh or frozen crab meat for the best flavor. If using frozen crab meat, thaw it in the refrigerator overnight before using.
  • Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Be sure to drain the pasta well before adding it to the salad.
  • Chop the vegetables into small pieces so that they are easy to eat. If you want your salad to be more colorful, you can use a variety of vegetables, such as red bell pepper, carrots, and celery.
  • Make the dressing ahead of time so that the flavors have a chance to meld. You can store the dressing in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • When you're ready to serve the salad, toss the pasta, crab meat, vegetables, and dressing together. You can also add some fresh herbs, such as parsley or basil, for extra flavor.
  • Serve the salad immediately or chill it for later. If you're chilling the salad, be sure to bring it to room temperature before serving.

Conclusion:

Crab pasta salad is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for summer gatherings. It's also a great way to use up leftover crab meat. With its combination of fresh crab, tender pasta, crunchy vegetables, and creamy dressing, this salad is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
