Number Of Ingredients 7

1 1/2 cup butter, softened
1 package cream cheese, softened
3 cups sugar
6 eggs, large
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 ⁄8 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Beat butter and cream cheese at medium speed with an electric mixer 2 minutes or until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating 5 to 7 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until yellow disappears. Add vanilla mixing well. Combine flour and salt, gradually add to butter mixture, beating at low speed just until blended after each addition. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Fill a 2-cup, ovenproof measuring cup with water; place in oven with tube pan. Bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 to 15 minutes; remove from pan, and cool completely on a wire rack.

Tips:

  • To ensure the cake bakes evenly, make sure to preheat the oven to the correct temperature before placing the batter inside.
  • Use room temperature ingredients, as they will blend together more easily and produce a smoother batter.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, as this will help to incorporate air into the batter and give the cake a tender texture.
  • Gradually add the eggs to the batter, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Be careful not to overmix the batter, as this can result in a tough, dense cake.
  • Pour the batter into a greased and floured bundt pan, and bake according to the recipe instructions.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before inverting it onto a serving plate.
  • Dust the cake with powdered sugar or drizzle with a glaze for a finishing touch.

Conclusion:

This classic cream cheese pound cake is a delicious and versatile dessert that can be enjoyed on its own or with a variety of toppings. With its moist, tender crumb and rich, flavorful cream cheese filling, it's sure to be a hit with family and friends. Whether you're baking for a special occasion or just looking for a sweet treat, this pound cake is sure to satisfy your cravings.
