Tips:

  • For the perfect crust, use a combination of butter and shortening. This will give the crust a flaky texture.
  • If you don't have a pastry cutter, you can use two knives to cut the butter into the flour.
  • Be sure to chill the dough before rolling it out. This will help to prevent the crust from shrinking in the oven.
  • When filling the pie, don't overfill it. Leave about 1/2 inch of space around the edges of the pie.
  • Bake the pie in a preheated oven. This will help to ensure that the crust cooks evenly.
  • If you want a golden brown crust, brush the top of the pie with milk or an egg wash before baking.
  • Let the pie cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. This will give the filling time to set.

Conclusion:

Mock apple pie is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its flaky crust and sweet and tangy filling, this pie is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a delicious and satisfying dessert, give mock apple pie a try. You won't be disappointed!
