Tips:

  • Choose the right pasta. K-D pasta, also known as elbow macaroni, is the classic choice for taco soup, but you can use any type of small, sturdy pasta, such as penne, shells, or orecchiette.
  • Brown the beef thoroughly. This will help to develop flavor and prevent the soup from being greasy.
  • Use a variety of toppings. Shredded cheese, sour cream, salsa, and avocado are all classic taco toppings, but you can also get creative and add your own favorites, such as black beans, corn, or chopped cilantro.
  • Make it a one-pot meal. This recipe is designed to be made in one pot, which makes it easy to clean up.
  • Serve immediately. Taco soup is best served hot, so make sure to serve it as soon as it's finished cooking.
