PACIFIC NORTHWEST MICROWBREW STEAMERS WITH BREAD

Pacific Northwest Microwbrew Steamers With Bread image

This has amazed our guests for years, but is so easy it leaves me time to enjoy their company! And sometimes hubby and I just have it together with a very oaky Chardonnay. The use of unsalted butter is imperative for this recipe, else it is way too salty! This serves 4 for a pretty filling appetizer or 2 for a meal with a salad. You can use clams instead of mussels if you wish. There will be plenty of broth to soak up with a nice crusty bread.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh, high-quality seafood: The quality of your ingredients will greatly impact the flavor of your dish. When selecting seafood, look for items that are firm to the touch, have a mild, briny smell, and are free of any blemishes or discoloration.
  • Use a variety of seafood: Don't be afraid to mix and match different types of seafood in your steamer. This will add depth and complexity to the flavor of your dish. Some good options include clams, mussels, shrimp, crab, and lobster.
  • Don't overcrowd the steamer: Make sure to leave enough space between the pieces of seafood so that they can cook evenly. If the steamer is too crowded, the seafood will not cook properly and may become soggy.
  • Season the seafood lightly: Seafood has a delicate flavor that can easily be overpowered by heavy seasonings. Use a light hand when seasoning your seafood, and let the natural flavors shine through.
  • Steam the seafood until it is just cooked through: Seafood cooks quickly, so it is important to keep an eye on it to prevent overcooking. The seafood is done when it is opaque and flaky. If you overcook it, it will become tough and rubbery.

Conclusion:

Pacific Northwest steamers are a delicious and easy way to enjoy the bounty of the sea. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a meal that is sure to impress your friends and family. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy seafood dinner, give Pacific Northwest steamers a try. You won't be disappointed!
