1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped

2 large garlic cloves, minced
1 bay leaf
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 lb venison tenderloin, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces

2 tablespoons canola oil
2 pounds venison stew meat
3 large onions, coarsely chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
3 cups water
7 potatoes, peeled and quartered
1 pound carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cold water
Browning sauce, optional

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat. Brown meat on all sides. Remove from pan. Add onions to the same pan; cook and stir until crisp-tender, 5-7 minutes.
