SUPER EASY CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES

Super Easy Chocolate Truffles image

This is a wonderful truffle recipe: It's very quick to put together and still tastes like a ton of work went into it. It can be easily varied by subbing any other alcohol or flavoured-syrup for the rum.

Provided by Lalaloula

Categories     Candy

Time 30m

Yield 28 truffles

Number Of Ingredients 10

150 g milk chocolate
50 g soft butter

1 tablespoon rum
chocolate, granules
sugar candy sprinkles
cocoa powder
cinnamon sugar
desiccated coconut or flaked coconut

  • Take 125g of the chocolate and grate it finely (Use a piece of paper to hold the chocolate so that it doesnt melt under your fingers). Chop the remaining 25g into small pieces.

SUNNY'S EASY S'MORES TRUFFLES

Sunny's Easy S'mores Truffles image

Provided by Sunny Anderson

Categories     dessert

Time 3h55m

Yield 3 dozen

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 cups milk chocolate chips
One 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
Pinch of kosher salt
2 cups mini marshmallows
1 cup crushed cinnamon graham crackers

Steps:

  • For the truffle base: In a double boiler (you know the rules, don't let that water touch the bottom of your top pot or bowl), add the milk chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, bittersweet chocolate and salt. Cook until the mixture reduces in volume and slightly thickens, 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer to a tray and then refrigerate until solid, about 3 hours.
  • For the coating. Set the oven to broil or the highest temperature possible on your oven and preheat. On a large parchment paper-lined baking sheet with edges, add the marshmallows in 1 layer. Broil until the marshmallows are black: not brown, but black. If the oven is uneven, rotate the tray during broiling, but it needs to char them black. Have the strength to wait.
  • Allow the marshmallows to cool completely; sliding the parchment off the sheet onto a plate and placing it in the fridge helps. Once the marshmallows are hardened completely, remove and finely chop. Add them to a large bowl with the graham cracker crumbs and stir to combine.
  • Remove the truffle base from the refrigerator and, using a small scoop or spoon, make several balls a bit smaller than a golf ball or the size of a shooter marble. Roll these in the graham/marshmallow coating and place on a tray. Repeat with the rest of the truffle base and coating and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • Serve the truffles chilled or at room temperature.

EASY CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES AKA: COOL WHIP CANDY

Easy Chocolate Truffles Aka: Cool Whip Candy image

A friend of ours dropped by one day with a few of these to share. He got the recipe from his grandmother. There are very few recipes I make using Cool Whip but this is now one of them. I looked up Cool Whip Candy here on Zaar & there are a couple others posted but they use different cookies and Hershey candy bars. I liked that this recipe uses chocolate chips, as they melt faster & I could buy a brand that I favor over Hershey. We store the truffles in a large resealable bag in the freezer & just grab one or two whenever we have a bit of a sweet tooth. Aside from some heavy duty stirring this recipe is very kid friendly. Cook time is chill time.

Provided by Tinkerbell

Categories     Candy

Time 2h

Yield 40 truffles, 20 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

3 (12 ounce) bags milk chocolate chips (12 oz each, not semi-sweet)
1 (16 ounce) container Cool Whip, Thawed (store brands & Lite options don't work)
1 (7 1/4 ounce) package graham crackers, crushed

Steps:

  • In large microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips slowly. About 30 seconds at a time, stirring between each increment until the chips are melted.
  • Slowly start folding in the thawed Cool Whip & then continue to stir until well incorporated. (If Cool Whip is not well thawed the chocolate will freeze into tiny bits, ending with texture that resembles a rice krispie treat when eaten. The optimal outcome is to have a center that is light & fluffy like a 3 Musketeers candy bar.) Either way, they are very good.
  • Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper or parchment.
  • Roll a Tablespoon sized amount in your fingers or use a small (1-1/2 inch)cookie scoop and form into balls. Set aside on prepared cookie sheet. Repeat until the mixture is used up.
  • Put cookie sheet with truffle centers into freezer for about 20 minutes (or longer to harden a bit).
  • When ready to roll, remove centers from freezer & let sit on counter for just a few minutes.
  • Put crushed graham crackers into a shallow bowl, roll each ball to cover and then place back on cookie sheet.
  • When finished, put the cookie sheet back in freezer for an hour or two.
  • Store covered in refrigerator or for long-term storage put the truffles into a large resealable bag & store in the freezer.

Super easy chocolates for the holidays. I've been making these in many variations for years and everyone loves them.

Provided by becjac67

Categories     Candy

Time 20m

Yield 48 pieces, 48 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

12 ounces chocolate chips
16 ounces creamy canned frosting
1 tablespoon bailey's irish cream or 1 tablespoon Kahlua, etc
coconut or cocoa, to coat truffle

Steps:

  • Melt chocolate in top of double boiler over hot water or in microwave. Stir until evenly melted. Add the can of frosting and the flavor/extract. Blend well. Mixture may start to thicken. Chill in refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
  • Use spoon or melon baller to scoop mixture into hand and roll in coating of your choice, place in mini muffin cups. Place in decorated box or tin and give as gift or place on party tray.
  • Play around with different combinations. I personally love chocolate rasberry. Hubby loves chocolate mint. I have also done them with rum extract, orange, Kahlua extracts. You can use milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet. You can change the flavors of frosting as well. There is no limit to the possibilities here.

Tips:

  • For a smooth ganache: Use high-quality chocolate and cream, and make sure the cream is heated to the correct temperature before adding it to the chocolate.
  • To prevent the ganache from seizing: Do not overheat the cream or chocolate, and stir constantly while adding the cream to the chocolate.
  • For a truffle with a strong chocolate flavor: Use dark chocolate with a high cacao content.
  • For a truffle with a sweeter flavor: Use milk chocolate or white chocolate.
  • To add flavor to the truffles: You can add a variety of ingredients to the ganache, such as nuts, dried fruit, spices, or liqueurs.
  • To make the truffles easier to roll: Chill the ganache for at least 30 minutes before rolling it into balls.
  • For a variety of coatings: You can coat the truffles in cocoa powder, chocolate shavings, chopped nuts, or sprinkles.

Conclusion:

Truffles are a delicious and versatile dessert that can be made with a variety of flavors and coatings. They are perfect for special occasions or as a simple treat. With a little practice, you can make truffles that are sure to impress your friends and family.
