EASY & QUICK TATER TOT CASSEROLE

Easy & Quick Tater Tot Casserole image

I'm posting this recipe because I love it so much! When I'm short on time, energy or ideas (or all 3) this recipe is my ace up my sleeve. I actually got it several years ago by eavesdropping in line at some mega mart on a distinguish established southern belle advising a young newlywed southern belle. But, don't worry, she was pleased to know I, too, was taking notes. I tweaked her recipe to my liking; I love onions and cheese, and prefer the cream of mushroom. Also, I prefer to leave out the celery, but my family likes it in.

Tips:

  • Choose the right tater tots: Opt for frozen tater tots that are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Avoid using fresh or refrigerated tater tots as they tend to be softer and less flavorful.
  • Use a variety of cheeses: Don't limit yourself to just one type of cheese. Experiment with different cheeses to create a more complex and flavorful casserole. Cheddar, mozzarella, and Monterey Jack are all popular choices, but you can also try using Parmesan, Gouda, or Fontina.
  • Add some protein: To make your casserole more filling, add some cooked protein, such as ground beef, sausage, or chicken. This will also help to balance out the flavors of the casserole.
  • Don't forget the vegetables: Vegetables add color, texture, and nutrients to your casserole. Try adding some frozen or fresh vegetables, such as corn, peas, carrots, or broccoli.
  • Season to taste: Don't forget to season your casserole with salt and pepper to taste. You can also add other herbs and spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika, to enhance the flavor.

Conclusion:

Tater tot casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or potluck. By following these tips, you can create a casserole that is both flavorful and satisfying. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give tater tot casserole a try!
