EXOTIC FRUIT SALAD

Exotic Fruit Salad image

The recipe is from the Royal Caribbean International Cookbook. A delicious refreshing tropical fruit salad. Makes one remember the cool night breezes and bright warm sun of the islands.

Provided by PaulaG

Categories     Mango

Time 25m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/3 cup diced papaya
1/3 cup diced mango
1/3 cup diced honeydew melon
1/3 cup diced cantaloupe
1/3 cup diced seedless watermelon
8 strawberries, washed and quartered lengthwise
1/2 cup papaya nectar
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
4 slices fresh pineapple, diced
mint sprig, for garnish

Steps:

  • In a nonreactive bowl, combine all the fruit; add the papaya nectar and lime juice, toss to coat.
  • Divide the salad among 4 chilled serving plates and garnish with mint spring, serve immediately.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of fruits. This will give your salad a more complex flavor and texture. Some good choices include berries, melons, citrus fruits, and tropical fruits.
  • Choose ripe fruits. Ripe fruits are sweeter and more flavorful than unripe fruits. They are also more likely to be juicy and tender.
  • Wash the fruits thoroughly before using them. This will remove any dirt or bacteria that may be on the surface of the fruits.
  • Cut the fruits into bite-sized pieces. This will make them easier to eat and will also help them to absorb the dressing more evenly.
  • Use a light dressing. A heavy dressing will overpower the flavor of the fruits. A simple vinaigrette or yogurt-based dressing is a good choice.
  • Chill the salad before serving. This will help to keep the fruits crisp and refreshing.

Conclusion:

Fruit salad is a delicious and refreshing treat that can be enjoyed any time of year. It is a good source of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. By following these tips, you can make a fruit salad that is both healthy and delicious.
