BEEF FAJITAS

Beef Fajitas image

This colorful beef fajita contains fresh cilantro, yellow bell peppers, and red onions. Sour cream and a squeeze of lime juice give it a cool taste. The longer the flank steak marinates, the more flavorful it will be. You can substitute 1 1/2 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breast for the beef, if you wish.

MELT-IN-YOUR-MOUTH BEEF FAJITAS

Melt-in-Your-Mouth Beef Fajitas image

I love a good fajita but have never been satisfied with most restaurants I've gone to. I've come up with a basic recipe you can build from that is awesome in itself. Give it a try! The meat is key in a good fajita. It must melt in your mouth along with all the other fixins you put into the tortilla. Serve fajitas in warm tortillas topped with fresh guacamole, garden salsa, and fresh cilantro.

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, cut into slices and separated

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of beef: Flank steak, skirt steak, or hanger steak are all good options for fajitas. These cuts are relatively thin and have a good amount of marbling, which makes them tender and flavorful.
  • Marinate the beef: Marinating the beef helps to tenderize it and add flavor. You can use a variety of marinades, but a simple mixture of olive oil, lime juice, garlic, and cumin is a good place to start.
  • Cook the beef over high heat: Fajitas are best cooked over high heat so that the beef gets a nice sear. You can use a grill, a griddle, or a cast iron skillet.
  • Slice the beef thinly: Once the beef is cooked, slice it thinly against the grain. This will make it easier to eat.
  • Serve the fajitas with your favorite toppings: Some popular toppings for fajitas include grilled onions and peppers, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, and cheese.

Conclusion:

Beef fajitas are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a party. By following these tips, you can make sure that your fajitas are tender, flavorful, and packed with your favorite toppings.
