Tips:
- Use a slow cooker with a 4-quart capacity or larger. This will ensure that there is enough room for all of the ingredients and that the soup can cook evenly.
- Brown the chicken breasts before adding them to the slow cooker. This will help to lock in the flavor and prevent the chicken from becoming dry.
- Add plenty of vegetables to the soup. This will help to make it more nutritious and filling. Some good choices for vegetables include carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, and corn.
- Use a variety of beans and lentils in the soup. This will add protein, fiber, and flavor to the soup. Some good choices for beans and lentils include black beans, pinto beans, kidney beans, lentils, and split peas.
- Season the soup to taste. Use salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder, and garlic powder to taste. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a little bit of heat.
- Serve the soup with your favorite toppings. Some good choices for toppings include sour cream, shredded cheese, diced avocado, and chopped cilantro.
