FISH MARINADE FOR PEOPLE WHO HATE FISH

Fish Marinade for People Who Hate Fish image

My husband and I love fish and buy it frequently. Sometimes, we end up getting a more fishy fish than we like and hate to throw it away. So, this is something we've come up with to marinate the fish with to make it totally yummy, despite the funky-fish-flavor factor. :D My step-daughter hates fish and has always refused to eat it. She tried a piece of Tilapia marinated in this and said it was honestly good. That's saying a lot if she ate it! Hope you find this as useful as we do. It's great on a nice piece of fish OR for use on that older fish you found in the freezer that you thought you'd have to throw out because it's so, shall we say, reminiscent of the sea? ;) We always bake the fish in a glass dish with the marinade poured over it. Let me know what you think.

Tips:

  • Select the Right Fish: Opt for firm-fleshed fish like salmon, tuna, or swordfish that can withstand the marinade's flavors.
  • Freshness Matters: Always use the freshest fish possible, as marinating can't salvage spoiled fish.
  • Acidic Ingredients: Acidic ingredients like lemon juice, vinegar, or yogurt tenderize the fish and enhance its flavor.
  • Herbs and Spices: Experiment with herbs like dill, thyme, or rosemary, and spices like garlic powder, paprika, or cumin.
  • Marinate Time: The marinating time depends on the fish thickness. Generally, 30 minutes to 2 hours is sufficient.
  • Glaze the Fish: Before cooking, brush the fish with some of the marinade to create a flavorful glaze.

Conclusion:

With these marinade recipes, you can transform even the fishiest of fish into delectable dishes that will change your perception of this versatile ingredient. Remember, the key is to experiment with different flavors and techniques until you find the marinade that suits your taste. So, dive into the world of fish marinades and prepare to enjoy fish like never before!
