This was my grandmother Freda's 'famous' cherry salad. It was a huge hit at family gatherings. My mom mixes the lemon Jello, lemon juice, cream cheese and mayo in the blender. But here's the original recipe. Enjoy!

1 (3 ounce) package strawberry flavored Jell-O® mix
1 cup boiling water
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
1 (3 ounce) package lemon flavored Jell-O® mix
¾ cup boiling water
¼ cup lemon juice
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese
⅓ cup mayonnaise
1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
2 cups miniature marshmallows
½ cup whipped cream
½ cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir in the cherry pie filling, then spread the mixture into a 7x11 inch pan, and refrigerate until nearly set, about 45 minutes.
  • Dissolve the lemon gelatin in 3/4 cup boiling water; stir in the lemon juice, and set aside. Mash the cream cheese in a separate bowl until soft, then stir in the mayonnaise. Pour the lemon gelatin into the cream cheese mixture and stir until smooth. Next, stir in the undrained pineapple. Finally, fold in the marshmallows and whipped cream. Spread the pineapple mixture over the chilled cherry layer, and sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Chill in the refrigerator until fully set, about 2 hours.

1/3 cup butter, melted
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
3 cups miniature marshmallows
1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped

  • Set aside 1 tablespoon graham cracker crumbs for topping. Place the remaining crumbs in a bowl; stir in butter until combined. Press into a greased 9-in. square baking pan. Number Of Ingredients 9

1 cup reduced-fat graham cracker crumbs (about 5 whole crackers)
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 package (.3 ounce) sugar-free lemon gelatin
1 cup boiling water
3 cups 1% cottage cheese
Sugar substitute equivalent to 7 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
1 can (8 ounces) unsweetened crushed pineapple, undrained

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine cracker crumbs and butter. Press into an ungreased 9-in. square dish. Refrigerate until firm. , In a bowl, combine gelatin and water; stir until dissolved. Cool to room temperature. In a blender, combine the cottage cheese and sugar substitute; cover and process until smooth. Slowly add gelatin mixture and blend until smooth. Pour into crust. Refrigerate until firm. , Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine cornstarch and water until smooth. Add pineapple. Bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Cool to room temperature. Spread over gelatin layer. Refrigerate for at least 1 hours before serving.

Since today is The Wedding of Prince William and Kate, I felt a bit Sentimental, I thought this would be a Good Tribute to them. This Punch is a delight to Serve, and a Very Pretty Pink in Crystal Glasses & Cups, With a special added touch of the frozen Raspberries or Strawberries that Float in your Glasses. This also makes for a wonderful Mothers day Punch, or any special holiday. This is My very Own Original Recipe.

PINK PRINCESS PUNCH
1 QT - white grape juice (chilled)
1 lg - (16oz) can frozen "pink" lemonade concentrate, (thawed
1 - lemonade can of cold water
3 TBS - grenadine syrup ( cherry syrup)
2 - (12 oz) cans 7-up
- ice cubes
- optional: frozen rspberries, or frozen strawberries floating in the punch bowl

Steps:

  • In a 2 1/2 QT Pitcher or Punch Bowl, Combine Ice Cubes, Grape Juice, Lemonade Concentrate, water & grenadine syrup; Mix Well
  • Just before Serving time, Pour in 7-up. Stir and Serve at Once. NOTE: Carbonated Punch should be served Immediately before it Loses its sparkle & Fizz. Makes approx 16 1/2 cup servings or (8) 1 cup glasss. Recipe is Easily doubled if needed.

Found in my "12 days of Christmas Cookbook". Delight any holiday with this drink. I also make this in "Red" by using Red-Raspberry Drink mix an Raspberry sherbert. or Strawberry Drink Mix and Strawberry Ice cream. So you have your Choices Red or Green Punch, or Both. Thanksgiving/Halloween: Use Orange Sherbert and Orange Koolaid Mix.

2 pkgs - lemon lime kool aid mix
1 1/2 C - sugar
2 qts - cold water
1 can(s) (20 oz) pineapple juice
1 - (2) liter bottle ginger-ale
1/2 gallon lime sherbert

Steps:

  • dissolve kool-aid and sgr in 2 qts water. Stir in pineapple juice. CHILL.
  • to serve; add gingerale to mixture in punch bowl. place scoops of lime sherbert into punch. (optional), place a cherry on each scoop of sherbert.
  • serves 25-30
  • For RED PUNCH: Sub Red RASPBERRY Kood-Aid for Green, & Raspberry Sherbert for the green Or See Options at the top.
