MY FAMILY'S FAVORITE FRESH APPLE CAKE

My Family's Favorite Fresh Apple Cake image

This is a Fivekiller family-favorite fresh apple coffee cake. I got this recipe from my mother's handwritten recipes while cleaning out the old homestead in Cherokee, North Carolina. Our family wants it for dessert at all family gatherings. Store in the refrigerator.

Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: Use firm, tart apples that hold their shape when baked, such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Braeburn apples.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can make the cake tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
  • Use fresh ingredients: The fresher the ingredients, the better the cake will taste. If possible, use fresh apples, butter, and eggs.
  • Don't overbake the cake: The cake is done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Overbaking the cake will make it dry.
  • Let the cake cool completely before serving: This will allow the cake to set and the flavors to develop.

Conclusion:

Georgia's fresh apple cake is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its moist crumb, sweet apples, and crunchy pecan topping, this cake is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a special treat, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
