Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 c sugar or splenda
3 Tbsp corn starch
1/8 tsp salt
1 3/4 c water
1 -3oz pkg jello (flavor to suit flavor of fruit)
2-4 c your choice of fresh fruit strawberries, raspberries, grapefruit, etc.
1 single baked pie crust
whipped topping or canned whip cream

Steps:

  • 1. Wash and trim fruit or thaw frozen fruit of your choice. The amount of fruit you will need is enough for one pie and depending on the size of fruit that's the amount of fruit you will use 2 to 4 cups of fruit. Fruit must be WASHED,TRIMMED,SLICED, DRIED, and SET ASIDE, ready to be place in pie. It's very important to dry and drain your fruit. This helps you to keep your pie from getting soggy from excess juice and water.
  • 2. Combine sugar or Splendorous, corn starch, salt & water into 2 quart pot and heat medium to boil until thick and stirring frequently so there are no lumps.DO NOT BURN! Reduce heat and simmer about 10. Then add JELLO and food color stirring till JELLO is dissolved and color is even.
  • 3. Pour small amount of hot liquid filling to coat and cover the bottom of pie(this helps your pie from getting soggy too)and begin to arrange your first layer of fruit on top of filling then pour more filling again this time to coat and cover your fruit completely, repeat this process until you have filled your pie finishing with filling mixture to completely cover and coat your pie.
  • 4. Let the filled pie set and chill for at least an hour or more. Serve with your favorite whipped topping! GOD bless you and your family where love is served.

Tips:

  • Utilize Fresh, Seasonal Fruits: Opt for fruits that are ripe, aromatic, and locally sourced to ensure the best flavor and quality in your pie.
  • Choose the Right Pie Crust: Whether you prefer a flaky all-butter crust, a tender cream cheese crust, or a gluten-free option, experiment with different crust recipes to find the one that suits your taste and dietary preferences.
  • Prepare the Filling Properly: To prevent a runny filling, toss the fruit with sugar and cornstarch before adding it to the pie crust. Additionally, chilling the filling before baking helps prevent the crust from becoming soggy.
  • Bake at the Right Temperature: Preheat your oven to the recommended temperature and bake the pie until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. Avoid overbaking, as this can result in a dry crust and overcooked filling.
  • Let the Pie Cool: Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing and serving. This helps the filling to set and prevents the pie from falling apart.
  • Serve with Accompaniments: Elevate your pie-eating experience by serving it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a dollop of whipped cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce.

Conclusion:

With careful attention to detail, you can create a delectable fresh fruit pie that showcases the vibrant flavors of the season's best fruits. Whether you're a seasoned baker or a novice in the kitchen, these recipes provide a roadmap for success. Experiment with different fruit combinations, crust variations, and accompaniments to personalize your pie and make it a delightful treat for any occasion.
