FRESH RESTAURANT-STYLE SALSA

Fresh Restaurant-Style Salsa image

This addictive salsa is restaurant quality, or maybe even better! It's fresh and flavorful, not too spicy, and easy to make in a food processor with a mix of ripe and canned Roma tomatoes. This makes a big batch which is good because it will go fast. Serve with lots of thin, crispy tortilla chips and a margarita, of course!

Tips:

  • Use ripe tomatoes: The riper the tomatoes, the sweeter and more flavorful your salsa will be. Choose tomatoes that are deep red in color and free of blemishes.
  • Core and seed the tomatoes: This will help to remove the excess water from the tomatoes and prevent your salsa from becoming too watery.
  • Use a variety of peppers: To add heat and flavor to your salsa, use a combination of different types of peppers, such as jalapeños, serranos, and habaneros. You can also use a combination of fresh and dried peppers.
  • Roast the peppers: Roasting the peppers will help to bring out their flavor and make them easier to digest.
  • Use fresh herbs: Fresh herbs, such as cilantro, basil, and oregano, can add a lot of flavor to your salsa. Chop them finely before adding them to the salsa.
  • Don't over-process the salsa: The salsa should have a slightly chunky texture. If you over-process it, it will become too smooth and lose its flavor.

Conclusion:

With these tips and recipes, you can easily make delicious restaurant-style salsa at home. Whether you like it mild, medium, or hot, there's a salsa recipe here for everyone. So next time you're having a party or just want to enjoy a tasty snack, whip up a batch of your favorite salsa and enjoy!
