FROZEN MANGO RUM COCKTAIL

Frozen Mango Rum Cocktail image

A tropical drink that remind me of the islands and summer. You can make this non-alcoholic for the kids and non-drinkers by substituting 2 cups of orange, peach or mango juice for the white rum and 1/2 cup of coconut milk for the coconut rum.

Provided by Jociecee

Categories     Beverages

Time 1h15m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 cups white rum
1/2 cup coconut rum
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
3 cups fresh mango (this also works well with papaya or peaches)
1 tablespoon sugar, depending on sweetness of the mango
2 cups ice cubes

Steps:

  • Blend all of the ingredients except the ice in a blender until the mango is pureed.
  • Gradually add the ice and continue to blend the drink until the ice is crushed and all of the ingredients are throughly mixed.
  • Transfer the blended drink to a jug, bowl, or other container and freeze for one hour.
  • Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
  • Cooing time is the length of time that the mixture has to be in the freezer before sering.

Tips:

  • Use fresh or frozen mangoes: Fresh mangoes are ideal for this cocktail, but frozen mangoes can also be used. If using frozen mangoes, thaw them slightly before blending.
  • Choose a light rum: A light rum will allow the flavors of the mango and lime to shine through. Avoid using a dark rum, as it will overpower the other ingredients.
  • Add a squeeze of lime juice: The lime juice adds a touch of acidity and brightness to the cocktail. For best results, use fresh lime juice.
  • Sweeten to taste: The amount of sugar or honey you add will depend on your personal preference. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
  • Blend until smooth: The cocktail should be blended until it is smooth and creamy. If you don't have a blender, you can mash the ingredients together with a fork or spoon.
  • Serve immediately: The cocktail is best served immediately after it is made. Garnish with a lime wedge or a sprig of mint.

Conclusion:

The Frozen Mango Rum Cocktail is a refreshing and delicious cocktail that is perfect for summer. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. Whether you prefer it sweet or tart, this cocktail is sure to please. So next time you're looking for a tropical drink to enjoy, give the Frozen Mango Rum Cocktail a try.
