FROZEN STRAWBERRY SALAD

The original recipe for this was called "Champagne Salad". I changed it because I leave out the bananas and pecans as my kids don't care for them. If you wish to include them, add 2 diced bananas and 1 cup chopped pecans. I place this in cupcake liners (the foil kind) and freeze on a cookie sheet until solid and then place in a freezer bag. This makes portioning easy. The title says salad but this is realy more of a dessert.

Time 4h30m

Number Of Ingredients 5

12 oz tub of cool whip
1 can(s) eagle brand milk - sweetened condensed
1 c chopped pecans
1 can(s) medium - crushed pineapple - drained
1 pkg frozen sliced strawberries, slightly thawed - don't drain

Steps:

  • 1. Mix above ingredients together, put in oblong glass dish 9 X 13. and freeze. Cut into squares. Eat as is or you can put on top of lettuce.
  • 2. If I have fresh strawbrries I will slice them and add a little sugar to make syrup and put in the refrigerator ahead of time to soften up and make their own syrup. This can be used or subbed for the above frozen ones.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe and flavorful strawberries: The better the strawberries, the better your salad will be. Look for berries that are deep red and have a sweet aroma.
  • Freeze your strawberries ahead of time: This will help to concentrate their flavor and make them easier to slice.
  • Use a variety of toppings: This will add flavor and texture to your salad. Some good options include nuts, seeds, crumbled cheese, and fresh herbs.
  • Make sure your dressing is well-balanced: It should be sweet, tart, and tangy. A good starting point is to use equal parts honey, vinegar, and olive oil.
  • Serve your salad immediately: The berries will start to thaw and lose their flavor if you let it sit for too long.

Conclusion:

Frozen strawberry salad is a delicious and refreshing summer dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. By following these tips, you can make a frozen strawberry salad that is sure to impress your friends and family.
