Tips:

  • Choose ripe, flavorful fruits: The sweetness and juiciness of the fruit will shine through in the salsa, so make sure to use the best quality fruit you can find.
  • Use a variety of fruits: Don't be afraid to mix and match different fruits to create a unique and delicious salsa. Some good combinations include mango, pineapple, and papaya; strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries; or peaches, nectarines, and apricots.
  • Add some spice: If you like a little heat in your salsa, add a jalapeño or habanero pepper. You can also add some ground cumin, chili powder, or paprika for a smoky flavor.
  • Don't over-chop the fruit: You want the fruit to retain some of its texture, so don't chop it too finely. A good rule of thumb is to cut the fruit into 1/2-inch pieces.
  • Chill the salsa before serving: This will help the flavors to meld and will make the salsa more refreshing.
  • Serve with ginger chips or tortilla chips: Ginger chips are a great way to add a little crunch and spice to the salsa. Tortilla chips are also a classic choice.
